Personally, I thought the use of 'aardvark, 'quagmire' and 'unpacking' was inspired and delighted the challenge was not only taken up, but done so magnificently :)
Garrison Keillor was used by one of our session facilitators to end his session - it made the point brilliantly.

"I was being very careful not to implicate myself in this whole affair." Ha! Didn't work - we all rumbled that you would be in it somewhere!

Humour is a very useful tool indeed. I try to use 'jokes' to get my point across at weddings and scatter them around a few sermons to both lighten the message and to make it more pointed. Tis a sad fact that people will remember a good joke/illustration long after a sermon has been preached....
Have listened to Garrison Keillor quite a bit, and his stories from Lake Wobegone have humour in them, but that humour is used to make the listener face up to some really serious questions.
Sorry to have missed what must have been a hilarious session... Maybe you can pass the list to me to try at a Session meeting ???

Rumbled... I was being very careful not to implicate myself in this whole affair. I also feel a smidgin of guilt using someone else to get 'aardvark', 'quagmire' and 'unpacking' worked into our feedback answer - but they were fully aware of the circumstances.

I'm also pleased that it was noted that 'some people' took another activity seriously when they were asked to do so. There is, after all, 'a time'.

One conjoined twin, or two, with your rant sir? Personally, I appreciated the 'ninja twist' to the walking stick.... I concur heartily with your opinion m'dear. But ... being one of your fellow miscreants, I would!!

Oooh I wish I had been there! What a hoot! The church is too po-faced anyway - we need to lighten up! And as you say, the caricatures will stick longer than more straight-laced ones. I hope Church Law is as entertaining in September!
