It hasn’t been finalised yet but negotiations are ongoing (and looking promising) for my summer placement. It looks likely that I’ll be in one of the Euro parishes over the summer. That should certainly offer a rather different perspective on church life.

Anyway, not giving away too much just yet until it has all been sorted and agreed.

  1. Check you, Mr jetset!  Sounds great!  Hope it comes off for you.

  2. I used to do quite a bit of overseas travel in my previous job and believe me when I say it’s not all its cracked up to be. That said, on business travel you’re rarely in one place for a significant time, one business hotel is much like any other and you’re often working silly hours.
So, 10 weeks (+ 2 weeks holiday) in one place will be a very different experience and I’m actually quite looking forward to it. I do hope we can resolve any potential hiccups, but at the moment it all looks promising.

  3. Sounds good, John. Take it the Presbytery visits will be interesting !

  4. Sounds very different. Will you get to visit Sri Lanka as one of the presbytery meetings?!

Good luck with negitiations. I look forward to reading where your placement will be.

  5. Sri Lanka would be an interesting visit right enough.
Presbytery of Europe meetings seem to be quite far apart so I doubt I’ll catch one over the summer period. But you never know.
Things are progressing. I’ve agreed dates with my potential supervisor so they’ll need to be run past 121 now for their agreement.
