I'm glad my thoughts were of some use.
I like the 'authenticity' idea. I think there is a lot of fruitful discussion in that area. It dovetails somewhat with a previous post on how people behave on Bebo - the language used, for example. Who's the real person?
Am I free that weekend? Depends on when your slot is. I'm at Candidates' Conference until the Wednesday and preaching at Lanark on Sunday morning. So, depends on how organised I am.

Are you free in a couple of weekends time? This is exactly the kind of dicussion I'm hoping we'll have at Youth Assembly.

Our two focuses are 'Authenticity' and 'Information'. Authenticity will focus on who we are and how we use the internet to make friends, build community or use it as self promotion. More importantly, how does that reflect us as Christians and does it exclude people?

'Information' will discuss all the things you mention above. Is there a difference between knowledge and information? What is it and how do we discern? Does the church have a place online? If it does, why? If not, why not?

Your thoughts are really helpful (as usual) and have helped me clarify some of those issues that were floating around in my head mixed up with a whole load of other stuff. Thanks.
