I can remember a programme the BBC ran about this very subject, and their view as of some kind of volcanic activity that caused earth to liquify, and, combined, with an earthquake, cause the signs that destroyed the cities. The Beeb stated at the beginning of their programme that the Bible couldn't be believed, but then set about trying to follow through the Biblical narrative and coming close to fulfilling the descrriptions therein, and, for, good measure, restated the 'you can't belive the Bible' statement at the end. It got me agitated enough to have an English voice dub my comment on Points of View..... don't know what annoyed me more, the programme or the English voice.... still, that's my problem for the day.
